Lee gee jo

A pioneering modern porcelain artist. Born in 1959, he obtained his master's degree at Seoul National University and now teaches art at Chungnam National University. He lives self-sufficiently by farming and keeping chickens at his home and studio in Anseong. Employing the traditional methods used to produce white porcelain during the Joseon dynasty, Lee Gee Jo designs and creates vessels that are prized for their simplicity and ease of use. His enthusiasm for cooking comes through in the wide variety of vessels in his collection and their suitability for everyday use. Arts & Science has featured his works since 2012.
