IIDAKASATEN

IIDA KASATEN is a custom umbrella workshop led by umbrella maker Yoshihisa Iida. The workshop creates sun umbrellas, rain umbrellas, and all-weather umbrellas using original textiles designed in-house. Without a permanent storefront, IIDA KASATEN travels across Japan twice a year to hold order-taking and sales events. In addition to umbrellas, the studio also produces fabric and paper items developed from its textile designs. Other activities include crafting umbrellas for film and theater productions, collaborating with creators from other fields, and engaging in a variety of umbrella-related projects.
