Umeki Hontanehasami Seisakujo

The craftsman, Shoji Umeki, learned and inherited the forging techniques that have been handed down for 37 generations in Tanegashima in Japan. Although many craftsmen with excellent forging skills had lived in Tanegashima where high quality iron sand has been available from a long time ago, there is only one company at the moment, Umeki Hondane, that produces handmade scissors and knives using the traditional forging method.
