Roll paper holder

A custom-made roll paper holder for A&S. With a cylinder design, it is made in a size to hold one roll of commercial sized toilet paper in a box with a lid. It can also be used as a glove compartment, or other purposes. Most parts of the production are done by hand, and the delicate joints called "swallowtail" are hand-cut by skilled craftsmen. The copper nails used to fasten the swallowtail are made in the U.S.A. using 19th-century machines to produce nails. Vegetable oil based with linseed oil and beeswax wax are used for the paint, to be environmentally safe for the body. The inside of the body is unpainted intentionally so the wood does not lose its properties to adjust to humidity. The Maple material is characterized by its deep, soft black color, which is made by a "San-do Kuro*" process which made with black vegetable dyes. The Walnut (Black walnut), made of deep black walnut, is a special material made exclusively for A&S.

*The name "Sandoguro" means "three times black" coming from the fact that the dyeing process is repeated several times: three times does not make a black color, and IFUJI spares no effort and time to produce a beautiful black color, repeating the dyeing and mordanting process more than 10 times.

*For the Maple / Sandoguro, please avoid direct sunlight as much as possible if you wish to maintain the original color as much as possible. However, you may enjoy the process of the color fading, and one of the charms of this product is that you can see the change in color over time.
