MOONSTAR’s Lite ballet, a ballet-type slip-on sneaker featuring triangular elastic at the instep. This A&S special-order model uses original A&S fabric and is finished in classic colors. Based on a classic design also seen in indoor school shoes, the silhouette is slim, with a sole that has sufficient thickness. The triangular elastic at the instep makes it easy to put on and take off, while ensuring a secure, comfortable fit. It adopts a vulcanized construction method that can only be produced at a very limited number of factories in Japan, resulting in a sole that is supple and soft, yet durable and resistant to wear and tear, and that maintains its beautiful silhouette over time. A pair that reflects the high quality unique to “MADE IN KURUME,” produced through the handwork of skilled craftsmen.

This model runs slightly large compared to standard sports sneaker brands. We recommend choosing a size 0.5–1 cm smaller than your usual size, depending on your foot shape. If you are unsure about sizing, we recommend trying them on at one of our stores carrying the item before purchase.

【MOONSTAR】

Founded in 1873 (Meiji 6) in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, the company began with the production of tabi—traditional split-toe socks. After producing jika-tabi, split-toe work shoes with rubber soles, the company grew alongside the region as it developed into a center of the rubber industry, and has continued making footwear for more than 150 years. The company studies the feet of Japanese people and, in particular, explores the properties of rubber materials. Each pair produced at its own factory in Kurume embodies the techniques and experience cultivated over many years. With an approach unchanged since its founding, the company aims to create shoes designed for each individual’s feet.
