Chrome-free tanned baby calf leather originating from Italy. This leather was developed as a part of a sustainable approach, and is becoming popular mainly in Europe due to recent environmental issues. Calfskin is the skin of calves within three to six months of birth. It is thin, fine-grained, and flexible, and boasts the highest value among cowhides because of its beautiful coloring and beautiful hues. The surface is carefully finished with wax, which gives the calfskin its unique suppleness and gloss.
Caution
*Since the inside is coated, there is a possibility of color transfer to the paper or other objects placed inside. If you are concerned about color transfer, we recommend that you use the product after placing it in a clear file.
*Metal-free means 53.7% less water and 32.5% less chemicals than conventional products. Tanned mainly with tannin extracted from plants, but not completely full-vegetable tanned. Although chrome is also used, it is within the range of European sustainable leather standards.
*Baby calf is a very delicate leather. Although the surface is clear coated, it is easily scratched. When scratches occur, please wipe it dry and let it become accustomed. As it is used, the color change and luster will increase and become less noticeable.
*The leather sometimes has animal’s own characteristics (wrinkles, moles, blood streaks, scars, etc.), because we processed it, leveraging the quality of leather itself. The irregularity in the product is not a defect, but a feature of natural leather. Please enjoy the aging of leather over the time with the individual difference.
*If it gets wet by water or alcohol gel especially for the light colors, it might become strains. In case of getting wet by alcohol gel, please wipe it off with a cloth wrung out hard.
*Please understand that there are individual differences in the leather, even if they are the same product. Please understand the characteristics of natural materials before purchase.
