This folding fan, crafted in Kyoto, features A&S original fabric. The fabric features the ORGANIC LINE pattern, created by adapting an artistic organic motif found in vintage materials. It is expressed using gobaishi (gallnut) dye (deep tone) and bōsen joint tenassen (hand stencil printing). The number of middle bones is small to minimize the creased appearance when folded, and the master rib is engraved with a key mark. Comes with a cloth insert bag.
【 BOTANICAL HAND-STENCIL PRINTING 】
This product is crafted from fabric hand stencil-printed with botanical dyes using a traditional textile printing technique. The fabric is fixed onto a printing table, and a dye paste is applied over a stencil using a spatula to create the pattern. It is then steamed to fix the color and washed to finish the process. This rare printing technique incorporates living natural colors into its patterns - colors that cannot be achieved with synthetic dyes.

*The fan surface (fabric) cannot be replaced. Please understand this in advance.
*The color and appearance of the dyed fabric may vary slightly depending on the season and environment in which it is dyed, and there may be some color changes due to storage conditions and usage over time. However, this is a characteristic of natural dyes and not a result of dyeing techniques. Unlike chemical dyes, natural dyes evolve and mature, so please enjoy the deep and beautiful colors of natural dyes as they age over time.
*Due to the use of natural dyes and dyeing methods, there may be slight color variations and irregularities in each piece. Thank you for your understanding.
*Due to the natural dyeing process, dye transfer and staining are inevitable.
*Unlike synthetic dyes, natural dyes have weaker colorfastness, so wear and abrasion from friction may occur, and the color will fade over time. Please understand that these changes are part of the charm of natural dyeing.
*Due to the characteristics of the material, there is a possibility of color transfer from rain, water, sweat, etc., so please be careful when wearing with white or light-colored items.
*Unlike synthetic dyes, natural dyes have weaker colorfastness. In particular, natural dyes are more vulnerable to light; thus, please avoid exposing the item to direct sunlight or strong fluorescent lights for extended periods.
*Given the nature of the dye, there may be color fading due to water exposure or friction.
