Hakkodo's large-size incense container is a type of tea utensil that is a small container with a lid for storing incense. The large, bold, and delicate carvings by craftsmen are given expression by applying lacquer, and as it is used more and more, the top coat of lacquer wears off, revealing the black lacquer of the middle coat, which adds depth of flavor.

The black (blade flower) is finished with tin maki, in which sword marks are carved from the center to all directions as if they were flowers. Azuki (blade mark) is a special order of A&S, which is one of the characteristics of Kamakura carving and not found in Hakkodo original. It has a tactile feeling that fits easily in your hand.
